Made for Muzluk. Open for everyone.

Muzluk is a consumer app we are building around an idea people have responded to with real excitement. It is made for ordinary days, feelings, plans, and the small moments that deserve more care than another blank input box.
While building it, we made two interactions that felt distinctly Muzluk: playful, tactile, and a little more human. They belong inside the app, but they can also be useful on their own. So we decided to share them.
Two small pieces of Muzluk
Mood Wheel is our five-stop mood and emotion picker. It moves with drag, scroll, touch, or keys; settles into hand-authored detents; can play its little sound cues; and respects reduced-motion preferences. We designed it to make answering “how does this feel?” feel less clinical and more natural.
Agent Questions is the interaction around it: a compact reel for the moments when a helpful question is better than a guess. It supports choices, custom answers, text, scales, time, and mood. The experience stays expressive, but the result is structured enough for an app to use.
Both are available under the MIT License. You can play with the real interactions before deciding whether either one belongs in something you are making.
Why share them?
Muzluk itself is built with open-source work. React, Next.js, PixiJS, Zod, Inter, PostHog, and other public projects give us a stronger place to begin. Their maintainers solved difficult problems in the open, and that generosity reaches all the way into the product we are making.
Sharing these components is one small way to participate in the same culture. It does not turn Muzluk into a developer platform, and it does not reveal the consumer product we are still protecting and shaping. It simply means a good interaction does not have to stop being useful at the edge of our app.
The product still comes first
The open-source packages are ingredients, not the story. Muzluk is the story: the consumer experience, the feeling of using it, and the larger idea these interactions were designed to serve. We are keeping that product close until it is ready, because first impressions matter and unfinished ideas are easy to flatten into something generic.
But we like that a developer can discover one joyful detail from Muzluk today, put it somewhere completely different, and make another product feel a little less mechanical. That feels true to the kind of brand we want to build: distinctive about what matters, generous where generosity makes the work better.
If you make something with them
We would genuinely like to see it. Share what you made, or send a focused issue or pull request through the GitHub repository. Accessibility fixes, interaction improvements, clear bug reproductions, tests, and better examples are especially welcome.
Mood Wheel and Agent Questions began as small parts of Muzluk. Now they can have a life outside it too. The app they came from is still ours to reveal—and we cannot wait to show you why these details exist.
